What’s a chapati? That’s a variation on roti. Chapati is a primal bread, so no yeast or baking powder is needed.
This recipe is for 14 pieces and preperation time is 30 minutes added with 50 minutes resting time.
Ingredients:
- 350 gr wholemeal flour
- pinch of salt
- 2,5 dl water
- a little bit of butter
Preperation time:
- Put the wholemeal flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a firm dough. Place dough on a light surface and knead it smooth. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for 50 minutes.
- Then divide the dough into 14 portions. Roll each portion into a round. Brush a warm frying pan with a little butter. Bake the chapati on medium heat, press them flat during the baking, and bake them golden brown on both sides until blisters appear. Tear in 2 halves before serving. Then they cool a little earlier
